Consumer prices increase modestly
The October Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a modest increase of 0.2 percent, compared to 1.2 percent in Sept. More importantly, the core CPI that excludes food and energy was up 0.2 percent, faster than many expected and faster than 0.1 percent in Sept.
